A judge has indicated that a man accused in the deaths of six people in a cross-country killing spree will stand trial after being found competent.

The Austin American-Statesman reported Tuesday that State District Judge Brenda Kennedy will find Paul Devoe competent to face capital murder charges in the deaths of two people at a Texas home.

Kennedy says Devoe was found competent by medical staff in February. He previously was found incompetent and was sent to a maximum-security psychiatric hospital.

Neither prosecutors nor the defense objected to the judge formally finding him competent.

Devoe is also accused of fatally shooting three other people in Texas and one in Pennsylvania.
