German police say the discovery of five World War II-era bombs in the eastern city of Potsdam forced state legislators to cut short their final session of the year.
Police say they cordoned off an area around the state parliament after the bombs were found early Monday.
Lawmakers will not be allowed into the parliament until after the bombs can be disarmed on Wednesday.
Hundreds of unexploded bombs from World War II are still found frequently in parts of eastern Germany surrounding Berlin. The area includes many former manufacturing hubs that came under heavy fire from the Allies.
