Online auction group eBay's angry customers get the chance tomorrow to air their grievances with the company's plan to make them use a single payment system.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has booked space at Sydney's Maritime Museum for people to discuss the internet site's proposal to channel all payments through its subsidiary PayPal.
Almost 700 angry online merchants registered grievances with the ACCC after eBay announced the changes. The preregistered objectors can use tomorrow's pre-determination meeting to spell out the problems they see with the plan.
The ACCC has already indicated that it plans to reject the proposal from the $38-billion internet auction giant because it would restrict competition in the market.
Online payments are dominated by Visa, Mastercard and PayPal.
The Reserve Bank has called for more access to everyday bank debit accounts to help reduce transaction fees.
ACCC spokeswoman Lin Enright said there would be no final decision until all the submissions made tomorrow had been considered.
Last week eBay said it would delay the changes to the payment system - scheduled for July 15 - until after the ACCC decision.
