More than a dozen couples have been married as part of a mass wedding organized by a Jordanian Islamic charity.
The charity organizes the annual mass wedding to help people unable to afford expensive ceremonies and to encourage couples to get married and have families.
The veiled brides and their grooms were married Friday in a school yard on the outskirts of the Jordanian capital, Amman. Some 3,000 guests attended the ceremony as bands played religious and traditional Arabic songs.
The event was organized by the Al-Afaf Charity Society, which also offers interest-free loans, clothing and furniture to newlyweds and helps arrange housing loans.
