New Zealand turned the tables on Bangladesh to take a comfortable 75-run win in difficult batting conditions in the second one-day international in Dhaka.
Chasing a target of 213, after a sensational last over in New Zealand's innings produced 25 runs for Jacob Oram - who was 75 not out off 62 balls - Bangladesh was dismissed for 137 in 42.4 overs.
From the outset the New Zealand attack proved much more accurate and after Kyle Mills, who finished with 3-13, took the wicket of Tamim Iqbal off the second ball of the innings the pressure was on the home team immediately.
The first-match heroes, Zunaed Siddique and Mohammad Ashraful, attempted to repeat their feats of that game but found the New Zealand attack much more difficult to put away.
They scored 53 for the third wicket with Siddique making 32 and Ashraful 40 but once they were parted there was little the remaining batsmen could do to overcome the run rate required which quickly ticked over five an over.
Added to that was some tidy New Zealand fielding which resulted in three run outs.
Oram was a key performer, not only for his efforts with the bat but also with 2-23 from his eight overs.
Having suffered their first loss in ODIs against Bangladesh in the first match of the series on Thursday, the New Zealanders were in strife at 4-45 and 7-115 but knocks of 30 by Jesse Ryder, 33 from Ross Taylor and 25 by Daniel Flynn eased some of the frustration.
But it was a 41-run stand between Oram and Kyle Mills that ensured New Zealand would have a chance to bat out its 50 overs, and while Mills was bowled for 17 and then Tim Southee was run out for a duck on a line decision, Jeetan Patel was able to bat out the last five overs with Oram.
Although dropped on 26, the big Central Districts all-rounder scored his 50th run off the last ball of the 49th over, and then took a fearful toll of spin bowler Abdur Razzak's last over, including three sixes and a four.
